Ebert Honey at the 75th Old Threshers Reunion! -- September 2025

Last weekend we spent several days down at the Old Threshers Reunion in Mount Pleasant, IA. It's part of our Labor Day weekend ritual. We are getting very close to having a quarter century presence at the reunion! Phil (pictured above) has assumed bee guy celebrity status with many of the regular attendees that come every year! He got them hooked on the honey sticks!
Alex is our number one guy for selling the honey goods on every day that the reunion is underway. Here he is with a fun stack of one dollar bills--we get lots and lots of them due to the honey sticks. Parents are always happy to buy four sticks for a dollar! Though it is also impressive how many people buy the 100 honey stick deal that we offer.

And of course the third generation in the bee world is still enjoying the Threshers event. Andrew kind of fell in love with selling wares at the Cedar Rapids farmers market when he was five years old and lets it spill over into the Threshers event as well. Last year he even drove a restored Cub Cadet in the noon parade they have every day!

We don't really do much in-person retailing other than the Cedar Rapids farmers market and Threshers. Most of the honey goes through grocery stores and to bulk buyers, but it is fun to do a couple of events that contribute the the community and have nice sales that go with them. We look forward to returning next year in Mount Pleasant! Here is a parting pic of one of the main attractions--a good old steam train! Watch out for the robbers!
