New Beeswax Options! Online Wax Pallets With Shipping Included!

Shipping pallets of pure beeswax is a dimension of our business that most of our customers do not know exists. It is probably due to our name "Ebert Honey" having no "wax" in it, which makes total sense!
This year we secured a beautiful supply of pretty yellow beeswax, so we decided to open up bulk buying opportunities more visibly. As a result, you can visit our beeswax page and peruse some precalculated pallet buying options that include LTL shipping in the list price (LTL means "less than load shipping" in the trucking world--basically a bunch of people share a trailer for coordinated delivery).
We have unfiltered and filtered beeswax available for shipment.
Unfiltered wax ships a lot quicker since we just leave the blocks in their large form and do not need to put labor into filtration. The 500 lb, 1000 lb, and 2000 lb pallets of unfiltered wax would require almost no difference in prep time prior to freight truck pick up.
Large filtered orders can require a couple of weeks to melt and filter all of the wax (i.e. the 2000 lb filtered pallet). We typically have hundreds of pounds of prefiltered wax on hand for smaller shipments, so the 500 lb pallet can be ready pretty quickly.
This picture represents the block sizes that come out of the filtration process--they weigh 10-15 lbs. Unfiltered blocks, on the other hand, usually weigh anywhere from 25-40 lbs.

There are a couple of delivery-related details important for people who select these purchase options. First, they need to have the ability to receive and unload semis. For example, it would probably be a bad idea to send one of these deliveries to a place with no space for the truck to pull off a busy road or into a cul de sac with no space to turn around. Second, the buyer needs to be able to unload the truck once it arrives. Access to a forklift or skid steer with forks is the main way to receive these deliveries.
We can arrange liftgates for people that only have pallet jacks rather than forklifts, but that usually costs significantly more than dry vans that do not have a liftgate on the back of the trailer. (For the record, it's not reasonable to request semi delivery and then tell the driver that you plan to unload by hand....it happens but is not good form in the shipping industry.) We will verify that customers are prepared to receive pallet shipments before sending it out on a big truck.
Lastly, we want to share that the online pallet listings are not our only purchasing options. Everyone is still welcome to call 319 259 9377 or email us with specific beeswax quantities, and then we can track down the best shipping rate for your specific address as well.
So that's what's new in the wax world at Ebert Honey! We appreciate your interest in what we are putting into the world!
